Information and Terms and Conditions

We are located off the Mossman/Mt Molloy Road, highway 44, in the small town of Julatten. We are not on any public transport routes so you need your own transport to get to us as we cannot do transfers.

We do not allow any day visitors.

Check-in is between 2.00pm and 6.00pm for all guests. If you are going to arrive after 6.00pm please advise us as we may not be available. Please do not arrive before 1.00pm as we are busy doing cleaning and preparation.

Check-out from your room is by 10am. Once checked out all guests must leave the property by 11am.

We are at an altitude of 440m and the climate means we have no need for air conditioning. All rooms have pedestal fans and there are overhead fans over the double beds in all units. It can get hot and humid in extreme conditions during the wet season.

We will endeavour to reply to email bookings promptly, however, sometimes emails go astray or maybe our internet connection is down. If you don't hear from us within two days, please send another email or contact us by phone and leave a message.

You should bring some cash with you. Local markets do not all have card facilities and internet reception can sometimes fail.

Children

Neither the accommodation or the property at Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge is suitable for children under the age of twelve. Older children with an interest in birdwatching and natural history are welcome, but those not interested may get bored as there are no facilities such as TV or swimming pool.

Other Information

There is a coin-operated laundry in the amenities block. It has a washing machine (cold wash only), a dryer and a large sink. Please remember to bring cash if you wish to use the laundry facilities.

Iron and hair dryer are available on request.

Wireless broadband internet is available.

NO PETS are allowed for the sake of the wildlife on the property.

Terms and Conditions

  • All rates are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (10% GST)
  • There is a 2 night minimum stay and a 2 night minimum charge for all accommodation.
  • Any changes to an individual booking must be done at least 5 days prior to arrival otherwise the agreed booking is payable in full.
  • For individuals a deposit, equal to the minimum charge of 2 nights stay, is required to secure a booking.
  • The deposit should be paid by bank transfer within 7 days otherwise the reservation will be cancelled.
  • For international individual bookings we may require credit card details to secure a booking.
  • For international individual bookings full payment of the booked accommodation is payable on arrival.
  • For all groups full payment is required at least 30 days before the date of arrival otherwise the booking will be cancelled.
  • For individuals the balance of the booked accommodation is payable by bank transfer to arrive in our account at least 5 days prior to arrival.
  • Any extra payments while you are at the Lodge can be paid for by cash, credit card or bank transfer.
  • Credit cards accepted are MasterCard and Visa. We cannot take American Express.
  • Minimum card payment is $10. We do not do cash-back.
  • A 1.5% surcharge applies for all domestic card payments and a 2.5% surcharge applies for all international card payments.
  • There will be no refund for any remaining nights accommodation of the confirmed booking if guests depart early for any reason.
  • Guests are not to invite other people onto the Lodge grounds or into the accommodation.
  • There will be a $20 charge for replacement of any lost accommodation keys.
  • No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property.
  • No bird call playback or use of very bright spotlights are allowed anywhere on the property. Please read Wildlife/Ethics page.
  • Guests will not interfere with any wildlife without asking first.

Cancellation Policy

For individuals:

  • Cancellations must be in writing.
  • If a cancellation is made 31 days or more before the day of arrival any money prepaid by bank transfer will be refunded less a $50 administration fee.
  • If a cancellation is made between 30 days and 6 days before the day of arrival 100% of the deposit is non-refundable.
  • If a cancellation is made 5 days or less before the day of arrival or there is a 'no-show' 100% of the booking is payable.

For groups:

  • Cancellations must be in writing.
  • If a cancellation is made 30 days or less before the day of arrival full payment will still be required.
  • If a cancellation is made after payment of the final invoice there will be no refunds.
